Bakelite Credit Union is committed to the "People
Helping People" concept. Our purpose
is to provide our membership with a friendly environment,
quality information, and products and services which enable
our Credit Union to exist, compete, and prosper in the financial
marketplace.
Bakelite Credit Union was organized on June 22, 1953, as a
State chartered Credit Union. We became a community credit
union in February of 1988. Anyone living or working in the
following townships of Manilius, Rutland, Ottawa, South Ottawa,
Utica, LaSalle, or Peru and their immediate family members
are eligible for membership. Although we have grown in size
and in the services which we offer, we still pride ourselves
on being able to provide personal service to our members.
